Locked out in Brussels

Keys left inside? We open your door 24/7

Locked out: the good news

When a door simply closes behind you, it is not locked with the key. Only the latch holds it.

In most cases, it can be opened without breaking the lock or the cylinder. You get your keys back and everything works as before.

  • Damage-free in most cases
  • Apartments, houses and offices
  • Day and night call-outs
  • Price agreed before opening

How the call-out works

1

You call

Tell us where you are and the type of door. We give you an arrival time and an estimate.

2

Opening

After checking your address, we open the door with a non-destructive method.

3

All done

You are back inside. The lock stays intact and works normally.

What to do while you wait

  • Do not force the door: you could damage the lock or the frame.
  • Check whether another entrance is open and safe to use.
  • If someone close has a spare key, that may be faster and cheaper.
  • Keep a document with your address handy if you can: we will ask for it.

Closed behind you, or locked with the key?

If you turned the key before leaving, the door is locked, not just closed. Opening it is more technical: see door opening.

Stop it happening again

A door with a fixed knob outside locks you out as soon as it closes. Leave a spare key with someone you trust. If your lock is old, we can also advise a more practical model: see lock replacement.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most

How long does it take to open the door?

Once we are there, opening a door that closed behind you is usually quick. The arrival time depends on your area and the time of day: we give it to you on the phone.

My door is armoured: can you open it?

Yes. An armoured door can be opened too, but it takes more technique. The price is agreed before we start.

Do I need a new lock afterwards?

No, if the door was opened without damage and your keys were inside. The cylinder stays intact.

Do you come out at night?

Yes, 24/7. Getting locked out always happens at the wrong moment: we answer at any time.
